What We Believe

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  By the power of the Holy Spirit He became man and lived among us (John 1:14).  (Christians celebrate His birth on Christmas Day) He was sent by God into the world to reveal the love of God for all of creation (John 3:16). Through His life, ministry, and teaching He broke down barriers and extended God’s grace to all, especially to those on the edges of society.  We believe He was crucified, died, and was buried.  And we believe after three days God raised Him from the dead to new life. (Christians celebrate His resurrection on Easter Day)  Through His death and resurrection we believe God has opened the way of forgiveness and salvation to all people who believe in Jesus Christ.  We believe it is solely through God’s grace revealed in Jesus Christ we are saved from the power of sin and death (Ephesians 2:8-9).  We believe this grace is freely extended to all and are called to respond to that most precious gift by serving others and extending the love of Christ so graciously poured out for us.
