Bethany Lutheran Church – West Branch, Iowa

Good morning;  We have been contacted by the West Branch Middle School seeking assistance from area churches in providing school supplies for families in need.  Bethany has been asked to provide 4 backpacks of supplies for a girl from each grade (5-8).  They are requesting bags be turned in by August 19^th.  

Bethany has faithfully provided school supplies in the past and we thank you for your support. Due to short notice, rather than asking individuals to purchase supplies we are seeking financial contributions. Please send donations to P.O. Box 236 West Branch, IA 52358 or they may be dropped of at the church.

The chuch council met June 14th and made many changes that go into effect immediately. For a recap of those decisions, please see the attached document.

Attention youth grades 8-12. Please see the flier below about the 2022 ELCA Youth Gathering July 24-28, 2022 in Minneapolis. Let’s try and get a group and head north to be a part of this event. An informational and exploratory meeting will be held August 2nd at 6:30 PM at the church.

Easter Worship Outdoor Worship

We have 3 opportunities to worship over the next 4 days. All 3 worship services will be streamed via Facebook. Maundy Thursday (tonight) and Good Friday (tomorrow) will be at 7 PM. Those who have indicated they wish to worship in person and have been contacted by Jill are welcome to attend. As of now, we will plan to worship outdoors on Easter Sunday at 9:30 AM. Please bring a chair. Face masks are required as is maintaining physical distancing from others. The Great Hall will be open should you not wish to sit outside and instead view it streamed through a television. There is room for 20-25 people in the Great Hall.
